One of those middle of the night moments

It's 3:30 am.  I'm having a night where I can't sleep.  H comes walking out of his room and asks if it is morning or is it night?  I tell him it's still night.  We curl up in the big brown chair with a blanket.  I ask if he wants me to come lay by him.  He says no, his bed isn't comfortable.  I ask if he wants me to sing to him.  He nods.  What do you want me to sing?  'Whatever' ( he has to say this three times and the third time extra slow before I understand.)  I start to sing a lullaby from a movie.  He changes his mind and says he wants a primary song so I start to sing 'I love to see the temple'.  He lays in my arms and smiles the whole time.  When the song is over I tell him I'm so glad he's part of my forever family.  He says, "I'm so glad you're my mommy.  Do you know why you're the smartest?"  No. "Just because you're smart."  I wish I could record his face when he says these things.  He moves so many facial muscles and has the most adorable expressions.  These moments totally make up for an insomnia night.

It almost seems as though you've been getting up with your boys as much as I do with mine! ;)

I think it's really neat that you are having these positive experiences with them, and that you are recording them. I love learning about my sisters' mothering experiences. :)
