Hi parents,

This week we wrote a class book of safety tips. Each kid wrote at least one page and they were able to write whatever tip they'd like. It turned out pretty hilarious, so I thought I'd email a few.

Safety Tip #1 Never run in swimming pools.

#2 Do not throw banana peels on the ground and in faces.

#3 Never slip on donuts.

#4 Never stand on chairs. You might break your arm!

#5 Never go swimming on electrical days.

#6 Never goof around when somebody's saying safety tips.

#7 Never go swimming in a electrical storm. (Must be an extra important tip!)

#8 Never eat bugers.

#9 Never cross the road when cars are going.

#10 Never leave food on the floor.

#11 Never be a bully or else you will have no friends and Santa won't bring you presents.

#12 Never drive into telephone poles.

#13 Watch where you're going.

#14 If you don't know how to swim, don't jump in a swimming pool.

#15 Never give kids drugs.

#16 Never eat a rat.

#17 Never go rock climbing in a strong wind.

#18 Never hit yourself.

#19 Never slip on bananas.

#20 Do not leave your lunch out of your lunchbox.

#21 Never put a bobby pin in electrical sockets. You will get shocked. (The girl that did this one brought me her page and said, "I know this one is FOR SURE true, Mr. Yospe. It happened to me.")

#22 Never do drugs in public stores.

#23 Pick up your toys or someone will trip on them.

#24 Never commit suicide.

#25 Never eat mashed potatoes in the rain.

#26 Never eat with a hammer.

#27 Never punch someone in the face.

#28 Never sled UP!

#29 Never eat a crayon that doesn't say nontoxic.

#30 Don't kick someone in the face.

#31 Always stick with your buddy.

#32 Never eat poison.

#33 Do not eat blood.

#34 Never be mean.

H is Reading!

H has started sounding out words and reading! This is very exciting, he hasn't shown much interest until a couple of days ago. :)  Saturday he asked what book I was reading and I told him to sound it out.  It was 'Ten Girls to Watch' and we cheered so loud when he figured it out.  He was so so proud of himself.  I love seeing things click for my kids.

Bad Dream

H came out to tell me that he had had a bad dream. 

H- I was moving but things were moving me and I wasn't moving myself.  It was in the bathtub and I saw an arm.  It was a gray arm.

Me- Was it a rock monster? (starts singing 'rock monster' from a veggie tales movie)

H interrupting me- No mom.  It was slobbery.

Me- Oh.  Must have been the booger monster. (big smile from H)  Do you want me to come in your room and turn some primary songs on?

H- Maybe...mom can I just hang out with you and watch a movie? (this was said with the kind of smile that means he knows he's not going to get away with it, but just maybe he can charm his way this time).

Me- Nope, sorry bud.  It's really late and you were really tired.  How about the primary songs?

H- yeah.  That would be a good thing to help me not think about my dream and the monsters.

Golf

We did one of the activities we saw in the Family Fun magazine.  I drew some  'golf courses' on construction paper, then we each picked a color of marker and closed our eyes while we tried to draw our ball into the hole.  It wa a fun and easy activity that we all three enjoyed.

H's first talk

I forgot to take a picture. :(   While we were getting ready this morning H was very concerned that he look so handsome.  He did.  As he put his shoes on he said, "And these will make me even handsomer."  They did. 

The reason he wanted to be so handsome was that he was giving his very first Primary talk today.  A few weeks ago he told me he wanted to give a talk, so I mentioned it to the secretary and he got an assignment right away!  His topic was 'Honesty is telling the truth, regardless of consequences'.  He told a story about how he broke my watering can and when I asked who did it, he was honest and told me even though he knew he'd get in trouble.  He did a really good job.  He spoke clearly and with emphasis and I think he was really proud of himself.  I love watching my boys take these steps in their lives.

Tuesdays

Tuesdays are craft days at the library.  We like tuesdays.  :)
