Happy Birthday Aunt Kim!

I know this is a little after the fact, but here is a picture of our little family when we went to wish my Aunt Kim a Happy 50th birthday. I am amazed at her spirit and attitude while fighting cancer. I know her family is happy she reached 50 and we are too! If you want you can visit her blog here. She amazes me all the time.

Two Months Old

H was two months old yesterday. I didn't get this posted then so...here are his stats. He is in roughly the 25th percentile for all three.

Weight: 11.5 lbs
Height: 22 1/4 in
Head: 15 1/2 in

We Tried

We have been trying so hard to get G to eat different foods. Tonight I told him he could get a sticker for his chart (he gets a prize when he has a whole row of stickers) if he took a bite of one of the things on his dinner plate. We were having penne pasta with an alfredo mushroom sauce and sauted squash. He picked a mushroom and put it in his mouth. He sat there. He gagged. He tried so hard. He threw up. He got a sticker.

Costume Craze

When we were down at my parents this last weekend, I was going through some boxes of baby clothes my mom has had stored in her shed. I came across this pumpkin costume that is WAAYY too small for G, but he insisted on putting it on anyway. He ran around saying, "I a Punkin!" and wore it for a really long time. When we found the dinosaur/dragon, he wanted to inclucde H as well. Such a silly boy, but he sure keeps us laughing!

Jam Sandwich

When I make peanut butter sandwiches I make them with both peanut butter and jam. G always finds a way to eat just the jam side. Sometimes not even the bread...just the jam.

Addictions

This summer I've discovered a few new addictions:

Buying CARS for my son
( I'm sure he's very upset about this)
and Coconut flavored Sno-Cones!
I could seriously eat one every single day, but I haven't. Just almost every day :)
I know, I know...I should find a support group for people like me. But then who would buy the CARS and the sno-cones?

A Few Random Things

This is what happens when I try to 'hurry' while making banana bread.
My floor needed to be swept and mopped anyway, so I guess it was just good motivation.

This is H and friend enjoying the new toy I bought him with some money my sister gave me (thanks sister #1!)

It is apparently a toy everyone can love!

For the Grandparents

Some recent pictures of the boys for Grandparent (and others) enjoyment.

Camping Fun

This Friday, G got his first taste of camping. If by camping you mean a tent in the backyard, watching a DVD player and eating candy and playing with flashlights. But that's just as cool for a 2 year old right? Especially one who doesn't know the real thing yet. It might even be just as cool for a 28 year old because then he can sneak them both back in to their comfortable beds after the 2 year old falls asleep.

They kept telling me 'No Girls Allowed' when I went out to see what was up, but I did sneak out and get a few pictures anyway.

What the?!

Most of the things G says are things he has heard in movies or things he has heard people say. So imagine my thought process when I dropped a yogurt and made a mess.

Me: "Oh Man!"
G: "What happen?"
Me: "I made a mess."
G: "Kween dat up woman."
Me:"WHAT?!"
G: "Kween dat up woman."
Me: (thinking) What movie is that from?!

What's wrong with this picture?

I tried so hard with my garden this year. Admittedly, I was out of things for about two months because I was exhaustedly pregnant and then had a baby. Even so, I did expect to get a few things out of it. So now i'm wondering, what happened to my tomatoes and can I do anything about it? Anyone? Anyone?

impressionable minds

This morning.

G: "Hi mom! You have a good sleep?"

Me: (thinking) I must say that a lot. Hmmm... what else can I program into this 2 year old mind?

What I take pictures of

I had to add some pictures of K sleeping since so many people commented on the fact that he was missing. I didn't have them before, because they were taken in May and June and all the other pictures were taken in July.
Enjoy!

The first time G fell asleep watching CARS.

A favorite sleeping position for G.

H as a burrito

As I was organizing and naming my recent pictures, it was brought home to me that I must enjoy taking pictures of my boys while they are sleeping. Maybe that's the only time they are still. Maybe that's the way I want to remember them. Or maybe I think they are just so sweet and I can't help myself. You be the judge. These examples are just from the month of July...
