Harvest time

This is what is keeping me busy today. I really love being able to preserve food. We're so lucky to have connections with people who are willing to share their bounty. On our most recent trip to Delta, G said he really wanted to go to a corn field and pick corn. Mom and Dad asked their neighbors and off we went! H fell asleep in the car so he missed tne whole thing. G enjoyed it until he noticed how muddy his shoes were getting. They had just recently irrigated so there was quite a lot of that. It was just another one of those experiences I was glad to be able to share with my kids. I also look forward tio eating the fruits of our labors this winter.

You are amazing and inspiring. So what exactly do you do with the corn? Just bottle it or what?

Well thank you. It's pretty easy, just blanch the corn then freeze it in ziploc bags. I got six quart bags full from this batch corn. :)
