Birthday

I had a lovely birthday this year.  We just got back from a week at Lake Powell the day before and had to get ready for Father's Day the day after and K leaving for a week at St Louis for work right after that, so it was a busy day, but I loved it.  To start off G got to have a trial Taekwondo class and we ended up signing him up for a six moth contract.  We'll see how it goes.  After that we spent the day running errands and just spending time together.  We had to buy stuff to finish fixing the bathrooms (bleh) and I snuck the boys over to the library for their Father's Day make and take.  At five o'clock we left the boys with a babysitter and K and I went out for the evening.  We did a little window shopping for a present for me, but I really don't need anything so we didn't end up buying.  I consider our recent Bruno Mars concert my birthday present.  Oh, we did buy a couple Cummings chocolates... but that doesn't count.  After a little miscomunication and redirection (Jordan Landing NOT Jordan Commons)  Chrissy and Brian met up with us and we ate dinner at Sampan Chinease then went to see X-Men:  First Class.  I really enjoyed it.  I have enjoyed all of the X-Men movies.  I like mutants.

By far, my favorite thing about my birthday, was the card that G made me  All By Himself!  I can't believe I have a kid that is old enough to do that.  I'm so excited that he WANTED to.  That's actually a huge step for him.  He has been reading for years, but has not had a lot of interest in writing until very recently.  He is a very smart and caring boy and I'm so lucky to be his Mom.  My whole family and hundreds of facebook friends made me feel very loved today. :)

My birthday card from G.

It reads:   MOM I L Y I H T Y
               B I N L GORDON

Translation (direct from G):  Mom  I love you I hope that your birthday is WONDERFUL Love Gordon
