If you take a boy to a play...

One of G's very favorite series of books is the 'If You Give...' series. We had the opportunity to get tickets to go see a live production of 'If You Give a Mouse a Cookie...' I debated weather or not to get the tickets since it was down in Orem, didn't start until 7:30 pm and G's bedtime is 8 pm. I went back and forth and eventually decided that it was a good opportunity for a special experience (that we could actually afford) that he would really enjoy.

Rather than keeping H up late as well, we only got two tickets and decided that K would take him, since he usually misses the fun things with the boys. So we dressed G in his jammies, made sure he had his stuffed Mouse that he got for Christmas and snapped a picture before they took off. I sent the camera with K and asked him to please, please remember to take pictures for me.

H was so sad that he couldn't go too.

G was so very excited to be there. K said he did pretty good for the first part of the play but got pretty tired by the end. I don't think it helped that he was having some kind of allergic reaction in one of his eyes and had a rash on his face.

On the way out kids had the chance to give high fives to the actors. G was excited to see them, but not willing to ge a picture with them. He was ready to go home and get to bed.

The car ride home put G right to sleep and when I tranferred the sleepy boy from the car to his bed he mumbled about how happy he was. Moments like that just squeeze my heart.
