4th of July

We took the opportunity over the 4th of July to have a reunion with some of Kyle's friends and neighbors from his growing up years in Oregon. We drove up to a campground at Lava Hot Springs. We camped, played at the park, had good food, played in the river, had a patriotic devotional, saw some fireworks and enjoyed reminiscing (for K) and making new friends (for the rest of us). There are far too many pictures to post individually so I'm including a slide show.

This was our first time camping with both boys so it was sort of an experiment. G loved it all so much he sat in the tent and cried as we were breaking camp. We literally took the tent down around him. H also enjoyed it, but had a little trouble sleeping at nights. He didn't seem bothered by the trains that passed across the street every thirty minutes, but the cold and rain seemed to bother him.

We never actually went to the pools in the resort (we were too cheap) but we found a nice hot spot in the river that we sat in for free. I used some of my birthday money to get a massage there though and it was...interesting. It was the first time I have ever had a male masseuse and it was a little awkward at first. I kept trying to forget that it was a guy and just enjoy the massage, but he would NOT stop talking. I did feel a little more relaxed after so I guess it was good, but the whole evening was kind of rushed and I really really hate being rushed into stuff.

It was different for us to spend the fourth somewhere other than Delta with my family, but it was a good experience overall and we're really glad we went.
